Charles Lancaster push forward lever rook rifle, 26″ round barrel with flat top, serrated sighting plane, one standing one folding sights.
Originally a 250 rook, this rifle is now the ever popular .22 long rifle caliber. Produced by one of the most famous British rifle makers of his time, the barrel address “Charles Lancaster 151 New Bond Street London”. This particular rifle, built about 1900, remains in wonderful condition. The action retains vivid case colors and a pleasing amount of charcoal blue on the hammer and lever. The horn forend tip and a half round Prince of Wales grip stock of extraordinary highly figured walnut. Quite difficult to photo the wood is a deep chocolate with black fudge swirling throughout about exhibition quality. The checkering is perfect, however the stock has some handling marks and impressions. Strong rifling throughout and a period Lyman tang sight certainly adds to the shootability of this fine little rifle. Weighs 4lbs, 12 oz. An excellent example, will provide much shooting enjoyment!
