Charles Lancaster circa 1840s, S/N 1989, 12 ga. percussion, 30″ Damascus barrels bear initials “CL”. Rib inscribed “Charles Lancaster 151 New Bond Street London”. Nice original example with some repair to the top left hammer. Wonderful stock, original checkering, fire-blued steel buttplate. Shot and powder flasks, tools in leather pouch, original maker’s oak case. This is a best gun of the period. Lancaster began in 1811 as a gun barrel maker, then set up shop as a gunmaker at 151 New Bond Street, building guns of the highest quality.
