W. C. Scott 10 bore Premier quality. A fine example of a rather unusual 10 bore English double, 30″ Damascus barrels of “Silver Steel” as marked on the rib. Choked cylinder and modified, this is a true big 10 bore weighing over 9-3/4 lbs. The oversize back action measures a full 2-3/4″ over the breech face. Profusely engraved with all manner of wildfowl, including ducks, swans, egrets, etc. in a natural setting. The action retains about 80% of the original iridescent case color throughout. Wildfowlers such as this usually have a hard life; this example is in outstanding original condition. Highly figured burl walnut stock with large capped pistol grip measures a shade over 14″ to the original horn buttplate. Built circa 1882, seldom seen best quality large frame Scott gun. Again this gun weighs 9-3/4 lbs, most English 10 bores are under 8 lbs. Fine example of a true big ten! SOLD
