Edmund H. Osthaus (1858-1928) may well be the most prestigious name in sporting art.  His work resides in museums, galleries and the halls of corporate America.  Osthaus painted for the rich and famous shooting and sporting elite of the day.  Well known advertising and illustration work for major corporations feature his artistry. Recently a painting by this artist achieved a record $242,000.  “On Point” is an important example of the artists work which captures the attention of the dogs as they hold for the guns.
